Hi, I'm nickd. No, that's not an alias; yes, that's my real name. Even my parents call me nickd. I'm an Aquarius and I love handfuls of chocolate chips, the smell of old wood-burning fireplaces, scratching records while naked, and taking long walks on the beach. Here are two pictures of me.

I have been spinning for three years now. Here are a few notable things:

1. I was producer of Streetbeat, the electronic/dance/hip-hop music format on WNUR 89.3 FM, for a year.
2. I play techno (deep, hard, Detroit), house (tech, funky), and progressive (anything that doesn't have a lot of atmospherics and belongs in a glowstick-waving stadium). Most people think I play progressive - and I think I've been stereotyped as such - but I've moved drastically towards techno as of late. I think I'm finally finding my musical niche.
3. I am not yet fluent on three turntables, but I'm getting there. Give it another year or so.
4. I use a ridiculously offensive and large collection of guitar pedals as a rag-tag filter bank. This allows me to be more of a stud.

I say the following with a lot of confidence: I will never stop DJing. I will not settle down.
I will teach my kids to beatmatch when they're 8. They will be adorable.

If you're into intensely analytical and structured, movement-based mixing that involves empirical studies of how disparate genres and subgenres inform each other while still maintaining separate identities, I am available for booking. I do childrens' birthday parties, weddings, funerals, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, doctor's office waiting room music, open-mic nights, closed-mic nights, and sexually tensioned college parties.
